OFSTED requirements for automatic gates.

Schools are finding that they need to review their policy for security at school sites. Where schools offer  free to entry and exit to the site premises, there is an ever increasing risk for the safety of children and staff on the school premises.

Every year millions of pounds are lost through theft and damage caused by vandalism and arson. With this in mind, OFSTED have issued guidelines to alert schools to this subject.

Most schools have perimeter fencing of one description or another and many will have gates that secure the site out of school hours, but what about the effective monitoring of visitors during the day? The answer to this, for many, is that the gates or barriers are opened at the beginning of the day with visitors coming and going as they please without being challenged.

By fitting automatic electric gates or barriers to all entrances and linking them to an effective intercom system, visitors can be effectively monitored and then access granted or denied.
